Along with Linden Woods Village, 2,300 other senior living communities were named by U.S. News & World Report as the top care providers in the country for 2018-19. The “Nursing Home Finder,” released by U.S. News & World Report, evaluated more than 15,000 nursing homes across the country to come up with the list of homes designated as the best.
U.S. News says nursing home performance was evaluated over time, averaging monthly data over a year and much emphasis was placed on strong performance in medical quality measures. To receive a high U.S. News rating, homes had to provide significantly more than the required minimum of rehabilitation therapy. SeniorAdvisor.com is in their fifth year of hosting the Best of Senior Living Awards. SeniorAdvisor.com’s Best of 2019 Award winners represent the best of the best of in-home care, assisted living, and other senior living providers, based on the online reviews written by seniors and their families. This exclusive designation honors the top one percent of senior care providers across the United States and Canada.
The annual SeniorAdvisor.com Best of Awards tabulates over 150,000 family created reviews to find the highest quality care providers for this honor. Of the nearly 45,000 communities currently listed on SeniorAdvisor.com, just over 1,600 were recognized with this prestigious award.
Completion of the $28.2-million Linden Woods Village in Gladstone has brought 78 new jobs to the area. Located along 72nd Street in Gladstone, this continuing care retirement community provides seniors a secure environment where they can enjoy independent living, assisted living or benefit from health care during a recovery or a long-term stay. Since its grand opening, the facility offers 120 units, restaurant-style dining, a coffee bar, craft rooms, chapel, game room, library, spa room, on-site banking and a fitness center.
The general contractor for the project was HDC Development Companies LLC with architect Ron Reid Associates. The project engineer was Lutjen, Inc. Green Belt Bank & Trust, and First Bank of Missouri provided financing.
As a Medicare-certified care center, Linden Woods Village Village undergoes a rigorous onsite inspection survey by CMS staff each year. A CMS Five-Star quality rating ranks Linden Woods Village in the top 10 percent of retirement communities in the state.
CMS created the Five-Star quality rating system to help individuals, families and caregivers compare retirement communities and rehabilitation centers more easily. The Five-Star rating system is based on information from annual state health inspections, staffing ratios, and a range of different quality measures such as cleanliness, staff responsiveness, re-hospitalization, infections, and pain management. Scores in each of these three individual areas are then used to determine the overall star rating.
Pinnacle Quality Insight conducts over 150,000 surveys per year and has over 2,100 clients in every state in the country. In order to qualify for a Pinnacle Customer Experience Award, a facility must score in the top 15% of the nation across a 12-month average.
